Two Writing Goals and a Photoshoot
Once I got a taste of what it’s like to have a finished, published book, I’ve been chasing that high ever since. Maybe I’ve gotten greedy, and because of that, I’m making myself suffer in pursuit of the next fix. Except this fix will take months of writing, hundreds of dollars in editing, designing, and artwork, and a fair portion of my sanity.
I’m about 30k words short of a first draft, and the upcoming finish line is making me crazy. I want this so badly it makes me do things like decide I want to write 15k in November. So here I am, beginning of December and my final total for the last month was 13,984 words. Not bad. But I didn’t quite make it.
My “post every day” goal is going well so far. I’m doing an experiment to see how posting every day helps with engagement, which for most authors, is the worst thing ever. I’m not even joking. Promoting books sucks. We just want to write books. Marketing is its own beast that I am not trained to slay just yet.
